Yale Improv: The Viola Question!

Main Stage West
Sebastopol, CA

Appearing at the Sebastopol Main Stage this month is Yale's improvisational comedy troupe: The Viola Question! Formed in 1986, this group has traveled around the country making audiences laugh with their combination of short and long-form improv. Since its founding, The Viola Question has performed at many notable venues, including the Second City Chicago, The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York, and ImprovOlympics. Past members have continued careers in comedy, and work with the likes of Tina Fey and Stephen Colbert.

Improvisational comedy performances take shape as a series of unscripted comedic scenes and plotlines - guided by audience suggestions and participation - and a simple set of rules.VQ shows offer a diversity of styles: quicker games that focus on wit and audience interaction, as well as longer scenes that revolve around character development, storytelling, and situational humor. Many of the games are entirely original; you won't see them performed by anyone else, anywhere else.Enjoy their quick wit and comedic daring on Sunday, March 4th at 3pm or 7pm.
