HDATZ's powerful acoustic music truly resonates in their energizing live show. The 4-piece string band grown in New England mixes folk, blues, ragtime and jazz with progressive bluegrass and Americana-infused rock and roll into what Vintage Guitar Magazine calls "rhythm-heavy bluegrass-y music." Hot Day at the Zoo is currently in the studio recording their next full-length studio album, South of the Storm, for release in Summer 2012. Expect songs from the new album along with a mix of original and adopted crowd favorites. Marked by a growing list of festival and direct support performances alongside Artists including Levon Helm, David Grisman, moe., Railroad Earth, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, Assembly of Dust and the Ryan Montbleau Band Hot Day at the Zoo exemplify how their grassroots approach has been building a dedicated fan base. For fans of Yonder Mountain String Band, Old Crowe Medicine Show, the Avett Brothers and the Grateful Dead this is a show not to be missed.
