The 5th Annual Little Red Wagon Awards & Fundraiser!
Each year Portola Family Connections presents the Little Red Wagon Awards, honoring heroes in San Francisco who do the important work of supporting and advocating for local families. We are delighted to announce this year's honorees: The Silver Giving Foundation and District 11 Supervisor John Avalos. Silver Giving has a more than ten year history of supporting exceptional educational organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area that demonstrate clear and exemplary track records of increasing literacy rates for children and youth, with a special focus on preschool and after school. He holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from San Francisco State University and has served on the Board of Supervisors since 2009. Supervisor Avalos has also worked as Community Organizer with Coleman Advocates for Children and Youth serving San Francisco youth and families, particularly in the Excelsior District and has a long record of serving the needs of San Francisco children and families.
Join us for an evening to celebrate our two well-deserving recipients and mingle with friends while enjoying great food and wine. By contributing to this important event you will not only help to support children and families in the neighborhoods we serve, you will also help to sustain the larger movement, ensuring that all of San Francisco's families have the resources they need to raise healthy children and build strong communities.
