An evening celebrating the foods & culture of Calabria                                                                                            

To Benefit Days of Taste

 
The Calabria region of southern Italy is filled with history and with prized culinary treasures. From peperoncino to liquorice root, Calabria lays claim to some of Italy's most celebrated ingredients.

The American Institute of Wine and Food and Alloro Restaurant invite you to share in the presence and simplicity of Calabrian cuisine.

Inspired from his childhood in Albi and with his own unique interpretation of Calabrian cuisine, Chef Salvatore Corea has crafted a four course feast dedicated to the rich bounty of Calabria. Chef Corea carefully foraged typical Calabrian ingredients from the region for this dinner.

Six-time James Beard Award nominee for Outstanding Wine Service Charles Scicolone will guide you through a flight of specially selected wines of Calabria to be paired with each course. Mr. Scicolone is an author and educator of Italian wines who has been featured in The New York Times, Wine Spectator, and Food Arts, among others.

The evening will include a silent auction including a Mosefund Farm Tour, a collection of autographed cookbooks by Michele Scicolone, wines donated by Wine Emporium, as well as a foods of Calabria gift basket by Louis Coluccio of D. Coluccio and Sons.

Proceeds will benefit Days of Taste The American Institute of Wine and Food's national food education program. www.daysoftaste.org
