Creative Leadership: Music-making as a tool for transformation
In this engaging experiential session co-created and led by Gary Muszynski and Richard La Rue, discover how you can orchestrate collaboration, leadership, and innovation through hands-on music making to leverage individual and team strengths. Using simple percussion instruments, you'll form a cohesive ensemble with your colleagues and experience a dynamic ensemble building process that furthers individual creativity and team development. You'll be introduced to a leadership model that encompasses three ways of leading: Orchestrating, Composing, and Improvising, and using music, explore what effect each leadership approach has on the collective. This will be a musical learning laboratory with strong relevance for leadership, team development and navigating change. You'll be amazed by the creativity, musical cohesion, camaraderie and relevant learning that unfolds over the course of the day. No prior musical skill or talent required, just an open mind and curious ears.
FEE: $150 per person (plus applicable taxes). Includes some instruments (feel free to bring additional or favorite drums and percussion).
Limited to the first 25 people who sign up.
MEALS: delicious snacks will be provided. Be prepared to bring your lunch though or you can go to one of many nearby spots with good food during our mid-day break.
ARRIVAL: please arrive by 9 am to fill out your name tag, grab some coffee or tea, yogurt, croissant, and fruit, and settle into the space.
ATTIRE: please dress casually and comfortably to allow for some movement. Layers are always good to adjust to changes in temperature.
BRING: a drum or rattle or several favorite percussion instruments. Please make sure you mark them with your name or an identifying piece of tape so they don't get mixed up the instruments brought by others.
We're looking forward to a fun day of creative exploration, group sharing, reflection and learning.
