Anne Landsman - The Rowing Lesson
South African-born author Anne Landsman has been nominated for four awards including the PEN/Hemingway Award for her distinguished first book of fiction, THE DEVIL'S CHIMNEY. Her highly anticipated novel, THE ROWING LESSON, is an utterly convincing and vivid portrait of a life, expressed by a daughter's fierce empathy and exasperation. Having been separated from her father for many years, Betsy Klein conjures the life of her father as she sits at his hospital bedside. By the heartbreaking end of the novel, it seems inconceivable that we will not meet Harold Klein directly, that he will never wake up, so powerfully has he been brought to life. THE ROWING LESSON is soon to be featured in the November issue of Oprah's "O" magazine, guaranteeing it to be a bestseller.
