Lisa Pearl Rosenbaum: A Day of Small Beginnings...
Jewish Community Center Houston, TX
"A Day of Small Beginnings: A Novel"...
"How do you know who you are, if you don't know where your family came from?" This is the question posed by author Lisa Pearl Rosenbaum in her luminous debut novel. Stirring, mystical, and sometimes surprising, the novel invites us to examine our own ideas about faith and family. The story begins in the small rural village of Zokof in Poland, with the appearance of a lively 83-year-old ghost, and goes on to track three generations of a Jewish family trying to unravel the mysteries of their past.
There will be a pre-lecture reception with the author at 4:00 P.M. for participating Book Clubs and independent readers.
