California Palm
"California Palm" By Michael Struthers Extended due to popular demand to Saturday, November 12th
"California Palm", a warm comedic drama written by Michael Struthers and directed by award-winning director Virginia Abascal, makes its premiere at the Shelton Theater. In a rundown used-car dealership in a tiny southwest town, two brothers deal with declining sales and new relationships that strain their happy home. When a female firebrand from LA buys their dealership, they are plunged into an all-or-nothing sales contest that threatens the hopes and dreams of everyone involved.
The play has been very well received by viewers, and critics. Here is what a few have to say: "...terrific performances... "- SF Bay Guardian
"...the acting, too, is deftly done, with an array of interesting characters..." - Contra Costa Times
"an engaging journey to Smalltown, USA." - SF Bay Times "GO SEE THIS PLAY." "This play is a must for anyone who dared to depart his or her native clump of sod, tract house, strip mall or interstate ramp, for the mesmerizing allure of big city lights..." - SF Bay Area Theatre Critics' Circle
