Amahl and the Night Visitors
The presentation of Amahl and the Night Visitors will coincide with The Day of The Kings, a holiday celebrated in many different parts of the world. This opera was one of the first live performances presented by the Hallmark Hall of Fame in 1954. It has remained one of the most performed operas in the world. It is in English and only 48 minutes in length and is the story of a lame boy and his destitute mother who are visited in the middle of the night by the three Wise Men following the star to Bethlehem. It is written from the viewpoint of the young fanciful boy, Amahl, but is magical and moving to all who see it.
