Awake in a World that Encourages Sleep

Electric Lodge
Venice, CA

SPECIAL OPENING WEEKEND PARTY: January 7th & 8th, 2012

RUN: Friday, January 13th through Sunday February 26th

Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm
Sundays at 2:00pm

Written and Directed by Raymond J. Barry

"Awake In a World That Encourages Sleep" embraces contemporary issues of war, corporate power and greed. The play delves into the exploitation of the weak by the strong. It challenges the notion of the "pulling oneself up by the bootstraps" philosophy as the sole solution for society's ills and particularly the growing imbalance of wealth between the poor and rich. In the end, it celebrates the healing power of love.

Featuring: Tacey Adams / Raymond J. Barry / Joseph Culp
