"Waiting for Lefty" - Presented by Ubuntu Theater Project
Waiting For Lefty follows a group of cab drivers driven to the brink of striking in the face of economic oppression and political corruption in New York City during the Depression. Originally written, acted, directed and produced by the Group Theater the Ubuntu Theater Project is re-casting this classic as a cultural memory that re-cycles itself through American history, speaking to the overwhelming sense of social inequality in our present time.
Join us in a vintage car shop and put some fire in your belly as we celebrate Odets's fighting words and our cultural memory of what it means to fight for human dignity.
Emilie Whelan and Michael Moran direct this powerful show.
