The Night We Bombed Lincoln Towing
The Night We Bombed Lincoln Towing
A New Play by Steven Young Directed by Judy Blue
Time: Night time, Chicago, two weeks ago. Place: An Irish sports bar in Rogers Park that has seen better days...and... A cemetery across the street from Lincoln Towing
A new comedy for all Chicagoland!
Outside a driving thunderstorm rages. Inside a beat-up, forgotten side street bar in Rogers Park, six people are stranded, their vehicles all towed by the redoubtable, omnipresent Chicagoland parking enforcement agency, Lincoln Towing.
They are:
The bartender, Stan: a beautiful, angry woman Veteran wounded in the Iraqi conflict and now resigned to a dead-end job.
Janicowski: A rough-edged, loud-mouthed 55 year old white collar loser with decidedly strong views - and a shameful secret.
Darwin: A handsome young lawyer with a Juris Doctor from Northwestern Law School, Darwin is an ambitious man of color determined to make partner in his firm - and by any means.
Lilly: A rich, young, spoiled party-girl princess, ready for anything, and perhaps much smarter than she knows. Her father is the Senior Partner of her boyfriend Darwin's law firm, a fact that she never fails to remind him.
Flo: A divorced woman in her 60s desperately trying to make a go of her new doll-making business.
DMZ: A sexy young punk glam rocker of questionable talent, from the U.K. Born out of his era, and he knows it - and he, too, has a secret.
Together these unlikely comrades fight, laugh, shout, scheme and bond as they develop a masterful plan to fight back against Lincoln Towing - and to reclaim their lives from the outside forces that are rendering them impotent in the outside world.
Will they succeed? It's an exciting, heart-stopping, often hilarious new comedy from playwright Steven Young.
A Midwestern Premiere.
