Description
Michael Lewis and Dave Zirin in conversation
Hosted by Max Pringle

Arguably the two deepest, most hip, most profoundly aware writers examining American life through our professional sports will talk together and answer our questions.

Michael Lewis - wry, wicked and hilarious author of the blockbuster bestsellers "Moneyball," "The New New Thing," and "Liars' Poker" has just published "The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game" - a terrific saga of pro football and left tackle prodigy Michael Oher, an intermittently homeless Memphis ghetto kid whose life underwent a truly radical change making him an elite college football player who may someday become one of the NFL's most highly paid stars. Lewis has filmed and narrated short pieces for ABC-TV's "Nightline," has hosted a series on presidential politics for "This American Life" on National Public Radio, and hosted a four part documentary on the social consequences of the internet for the BBC. Currently Lewis is a contributing writer to The New York Times Magazine and the Bloomberg News.

"Lewis has a such a gift for storytelling...he writes as lucidly for sports fans as for those who read him for other reasons." -Janet Maslin, The New York Times

Dave Zirin is the very cool young author of "What's My Name, Fool?- Sports and Resistance in the United States," "The Muhammed Ali Handbook", and the new "Welcome to the Terrordome." A columnist for SLAM magazine and The Nation, he has also written for CounterPunch, the International Socialist Review, and The Los Angeles Times. Dave is a frequent guest on radio and television. Currently he is working on a Peoples' History of Sports for New Press.

"Dave Zirin is an incredibly talented and courageous writer, the sort of scribe sorely needed in America..." Kevin Powell

"Dave's got razor smarts, rapier wit, and most of all, a rebel's large heart..." - Jeff Chang.
