Alegrías
ALEGRIAS Y LAGRIMAS (Joys and Sorrows) by Judy Veramedni
Returning for a second year with new stories and new dances, Alegrias and Lagrimas continues to explore why Latino immigrants come here, giving up their families, homes, and countries to make an often dangerous crossing into an uncertain future?
Alegrías y lágrimas (Joys and Sorrows) is a moving portrayal of crucial moments in the lives of certain Centro Romero students, from Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, Guatemala and Peru.
The reading, accompanied by dances reflecting the different countries of the stories, will be performed on Monday October 24 at 7 PM at the Raven Theater. All proceeds will benefit Centro Romero's Adult Education Programs.
