Social Media (Walk-ins Welcome!!)
Social Media "Town Hall" Still struggling to integrate social media into your business development plan? Join us in an open forum discussion about the value of social media within the A/E/C industry. Moderators Amanda Walter and Marion Thatch will guide an interactive dialogue amongst audience members, as well as suggest strategies to develop or improve current social media plans. Come share your own experiences and questions with the rest of the group!
Speaker Bios
Amanda Walter Amanda Walter is a "behind the scenes" PR professional who has spent almost a decade working inside some of the biggest brands in A/E. In 2010, she founded Walter Communications where she helps designers and planners of the built environment create multi-channel communications programs that are aligned with their marketing and business goals. Amanda specializes in working with clients, like SWA Group, HMC, Lake Flato and Olson Kundig Architects, to create thought leadership and social media initiatives and to development and train their communications staff and leadership. Her book, Social Media in Action: A Comprehensive Guide for Architecture, Engineering, Planning, and Environmental Consulting Firms (published ZweigWhite) will be available this fall. Marion Thatch, FSMPS, CPSM, Marketing Director, AMEC Marion focuses on strategic marketing and communications for AMEC in the west. An active leader in her firm, she excels in providing strategic direction, business development support and process development and implementation. A co-author for the SMPS Foundation 2009 White Paper Social Networking for Competitive Advantage: How professional services firms differentiate themselves to win work, recruit, and retain talent, she continues to explore how AEC firms are implementing social networking plans. She was honored in 2008 by the San Francisco Bay Area chapterfor her marketing achievements and named the Sandy d'Elia Marketer of the Year. When Marion isn't working, she follows her passion for traveling the world with her husband of 35 years.
