NORDIC NOIR: A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT OF SCANDINAVIAN CRIME FICTION

Swedish American Hall
San Francisco, CA

A special Litquake appearance by authors from the snowy climes of Norway and Sweden. In conversation with "Czar of Noir" Eddie Muller, crime novelists Tom Egeland, Jørn Lier Horst, and Liza Marklund will chat about the bleak landscape of Scandinavian thrillers and discuss their work in the context of contemporary global crime fiction. Bring your questions. Co-presented by NORLA (Norwegian Fiction and Non-Fiction Literature Abroad) and the Consulate General of Sweden.

Known as "the Norwegian Dan Brown," Tom Egeland is a former journalist and author of "The Circle's End," "The Night of the Wolves," and "The Gospel of Lucifer" (winner of the Riverton Award for Best Crime Fiction).

Jørn Lier Horst is known for his intricate and elaborate mysteries. Besides being one of Norway's leading crime writers, he is also a police chief. He is the author of "Nocturnal Man" and "Dregs."

Liza Marklund's most recent book "The Postcard Killers," a collaboration with James Patterson, went to # 1 on The New York Times Bestseller list. She is also author of the internationally acclaimed Annika Bengtzon series.

Eddie Muller, The Czar of Noir, is a two-time San Francisco Library Laureate, acclaimed novelist, renowned film preservationist, and producer and host of San Francisco's hugely popular Noir City Film Festival.
