Othello
Unrehearsed Shakespeare brings their unique style of rehearsal and performance to one of the world's greatest tragedies.
Othello, while a brilliant warrior and strategist, is unlucky enough to be born into a society that has severe prejudice against him. When he marries the lovely Desdemona, those prejudices come to a full boil as the hideously villainous Iago sets forth a plan to lead to Othello's destruction.
The Unrehearsed Shakespeare method is based on the hypothesis that actors in the Elizabethan era simply did not have time to rehearse plays in the way we think of now. The technique uses clues from Shakespeare's text to draw strong vocal and physical cues for actors that have never rehearsed together. Theatre magic at its best!
