The Maiden's Prayer
The Maiden's Prayer

   by Nicky Silver
   Directed by Stephan Wolfert

   October 8th - November 13th, 2011
   Previews begin October 5th @ 8PM
Performances run Thursday, Friday & Saturday @ 8PM
   Sunday @ 2PM & 7PM

THE MAIDEN'S PRAYER follows Taylor and Cynthia, a golden couple beloved by everyone - almost. Libby, Cynthia's hard-drinking sister, is in love with Taylor herself, as is Paul, Taylor's best friend. Paul finds himself pursued by a young man, Andrew, who seems at first less interested in true love than in available real estate. As Libby and Paul are forced to deal with unrequited love their lives change dramatically and the five of them struggle to learn the difference between loving someone and needing them.

Enjoy an evening at the Atwater Village Theater in the heart of artisan-based community, Atwater Village. Enjoy a glass of wine or flatbread pizza before or after the show at the Atwater Village Crossing Wine Bar just steps from the theater!

PHOENIX RISING THEATER COMPANY--
In an effort to encourage a society of acceptance and equality, Phoenix Rising Theater Company creates honest theatrical art unrestricted by the confines of the actors' outward appearances. We aspire to break down the preconceived notions of industry standards and celebrate the inherent uniqueness of every actor.

Combining talent with community only strengthens our purpose. Phoenix Rising Theater Company seeks to involve local artists and entrepreneurs in every production. From local musicians providing the soundtrack and entertainment, concessions provided by local bakeries and restaurants, and local artists' works on display in the set and/or lobby; we aim to promote a sense of pride and true community to foster a creative launching pad for our ideals of societal acceptance and equality.
