Urban Henkeeping Workshop

Join Cream City Hens for it's first ever Urban Henkeeping Workshop!

Educators will be speaking on breed selection, chick care, nutrition, basic health, egg care, hen handling, composting and gardening with chicken waste, coop building, Milwaukee ordinance requirements, and day-to-day life with hens in the city! Also covered is what to do with hens you can't take care of anymore, where to find hens or chicks, and basic chicken vocabulary. Take a look at a simple, standard urban coop, put your hands on some chickens, and learn how to get started with hens!

There will be plenty of time for Q&A from each speaker presenting, as well as door prizes, including a chick starter kit from Bliffert Lumber, a year subscription to Backyard Poultry Magazine, a half dozen of Kilbourn the Golden Campine's finest eggs, chick starter, an illustrated breed guide, and a $15 gift card for lunch from Wild Flour Bakery (right around the corner from Sweet Water Organics!) Bring a notebook, a pen, an interest in hens, and a thirsty mind!

Please purchase one ticket per family--an $5 fee is expected at the door for any additional attendees living in the same household (one $5 fee covers the rest of the household).
