January Comedy at the Ave 2012
Why did the chicken cross the road?   To get to Comedy Night at The Ave, of course. Once a month the Auburn Ave Theater presents three comedians in one night to keep you laughing all night long. So don't head to Seattle or Tacoma when can head right down to the Ave for great regional comedy.

Our Headliner...
Todd Sawyer

Originally from a small town in the Northwest, Sawyer began his stand-up comedy career in Seattle in 1989.  He has performed all over the world, from comedy clubs in England to the most famous stages in America. Sawyer's act has been seen on television, cruise ships, college campuses, and USO tours entertaining the troops.

Todd just wrapped up a 3 year tour with Ron White on Ron's "Moral Compass" tour.  Sawyer is currently co-hosting the podcast, "My Picker is Broken" and writing for The Huffington Post.

Sawyer won the prestigious Seattle Stand-up Comedy Competition and made his first television appearance on a local show, "Standing Room Only".  Since then Todd has made people laugh on a variety of television shows from multiple appearances on CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" to National Lampoon's "Funny Money"  or cracking jokes on CMT's  "Country Music's 20 Sexiest Women".  He performed on Paramount Television's "The World Stands Up", which aired in Australia, the UK and on BBC America.  Sawyer also appeared on Entertainment Studios newest show, " ComedyTV.com"   and  "Man Up/Stand Up" .

Todd has co-written and optioned 3 different screenplays.  He released two comedy CDs, You Get What You Pay For and Welcome Home.  He's written for PAX TV's "Dirty Rotten Cheater", written and produced ComedyWorld Radio Network's "Morning Sickness", segment produced Sony TriStar's  "Everybody's Talking".    Sawyer also was the driving force  behind the fund-raising tour, "The Ha Brothers".

Sawyer's original stories are based on his life's ups and downs. From being a bull rider on the junior rodeo circuit to his inability to become a fully functioning adult, his unique stories are revealing and funny.

An avid sports fan, Sawyer spends his free time playing golf and basketball.   He lives in Los Angeles with his fiancĂ© and two cats.
