Story Story Night: WATER
(BOISE, ID) In the heat of July, Story Story Night goes deep into "WATER: Stories of Going With/Against the Flow" on July 25, 2011. The live storytelling program starts at 7 pm at The Linen Building, located at 1402 W. Grove St. in downtown Boise's Linen District.
Admission is $5. A limited number of priority seating tickets are now available at Brown Paper Tickets (http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/186381). Doors open to priority seating ticket holders at 6:00 pm. General admission tickets are available when doors open to the public at large at 6:30 pm. The venue is all ages, and offers a full bar (with valid ID) and Pie Hole pizza.
On the last Monday of every month, Story Story Night presents true stories on a theme, told live on stage and without notes. Featured storytellers share a story on the theme, followed by an open story slam. Musician Dan Costello performs, and Jessica Holmes hosts the night.
The featured storytellers for WATER are Mat Erpelding, Carly Oppie and a husband-and-wife duo, Andrea and Josh Bogle. Erpelding navigates the crash of hurricane and ego on the Gulf Sea. Oppie fights the flow as a teenaged bulimic. The Bogles dive into marriage and survival during an ill-fated tour of Redfish Lake.
The featured storytellers become judges in the story slam after an intermission with live music. Names are drawn from a hat, and the chosen few have 5 minutes to tell a true story on the theme. The winner receives a prize from Boise Guest House, Eyes of the World and Rediscovered Books.
July's show will also continue a new Story Story after party at Red Feather Lounge that will offer ticket holders exclusive treats and toasts, along with an open mic for sharing lingering stories.
"Story Story Night is where real live magic and connection happens," says Jessica Holmes, Story Story Night Host, Artistic and Marketing Director. "In July, ride the wave and go deep into the elements that give stories power. WATER will be a truly refreshing experience."
At the July show, Story Story Night will sell one-of-a-kind merchandise, designed and produced by new partner Bricolage.
