Presented by Dance Truck, PLOT is a site-specific performance by choreographer Blake Beckham, designed for a blend of visually arresting interior and exterior spaces at The Goat Farm. With the assistance of their dance truck (a vintage Scout filled with sod), Beckham and her small cast of dancers will lead the audience through several sites at the treasured cotton gin-turned-artist community. Collaborators including Malina Rodriguez and Neil Fried join forces with Beckham to create lighting design, film, sound and art installations that illuminate the universe of wonder within a plot of earth. A collection of spoons clatter in the breeze, where pillows float and hundreds of shoes sprout plants. The stunning imagery evokes themes of growth, decay and the elegant dance between tenacity and fragility so present in nature's forms.
