No such thing as tired: A Benefit for Women's Rights in Haiti
Polar Lounge at the Hotel Marcel New York, NY
The event is a benefit and silent auction of Haitian art to support women's rights work in Haiti with the Bureau des Avocats Internationaux (BAI)/Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti (IJDH). Meena Jagannath, human rights activist and lawyer, will be working in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, coordinating the Rape Accountability and Prevention Project, which marries direct legal representation with organizing and advocacy on the international and national levels.
Proceeds from the event will go towards providing a Haitian public interest law firm (BAI) and grassroots groups with support and access to the international legal and human rights community by funding a Fellow for one year through the Lawyers' Earthquake Response Network (LERN).
