Compleat Female Stage Beauty
Bartell Theatre Madison, WI
Everyone knows that Shakespeare's female characters were originally played by men. But what became of those men when women were finally allowed on the stage? A modern period comedy by one of Americas leading gay playwrights, this is the true story of actor Edward Kynaston, "the most beautiful woman in the house," and his war against the female upstarts in the theater.
Written by Jeffrey Hatcher and directed by Cara Peterson. Join Mercury Players Theatre in celebrating our 14th year producing quality plays in Madison, Wisconsin.
