Cavafy's Caress - Encore

Cavafy's Caress is an intimate theatrical performance exploring the vibrant and passionate words and world of renowned Greek gay poet, Constantine P. Cavafy (1863-1933). A graceful collection of some of Cavafy's greatest poems are arranged to create a story that gives the audience a sensuous glimpse into his life and a mature rumination on his relationship with sexuality, memory, youth, and the love of beauty.

Cavafy, who was once described by the renowned writer E. M. Forster as "standing at a slight angle to the universe," is internationally celebrated as one of the most original poets of the twentieth century. He charged his words with irony, eroticism, longing, and deep reflections on history's changing fortunes.

The performance will take place at The AFFINITY GALLERY, 216 The Promenade, Long Beach, CA.

The encore performance will be on May 7, at 6pm. The show is approximately 1 hour in length.

Show contains adult themes. The venue has a unique variety of playing spaces and has both seating and standing room available. Wine and sparkling juices are available on site.

AMPLE STREET PARKING - LOCATED JUST OFF THE 710 FREEWAY OFF BROADWAY - ALSO JUST 1&1/2 BLOCKS FROM BLUE LINE METRO STATION 1ST STREET STOP between Broadway and Third St., next door to the popular bar/restaurant "Congregation."

The performance was created by and features Los Angeles based multimedia performing artist and writer, Jason Jenn, as Constantine P. Cavafy. Larry Levi also stars as the Chorus Leader and Kyle McMillan as the Vision of Youth and Beauty.
