Q&A

Question: Which restaurants are on the tour?
Answer: The Heart of Downtown tour visits 7 restaurants that change from tour to tour. Participating restaurants include Mixto, Aubriana's, Crow Hill, Le Catalan, Deluxe, Black Sea Grill, The Eat Spot, Hot Pink Cake Stand, Manna, Caffe Phoenix, Port City Java, New York Pasta House and Caprice Bistro.

Question: We will be in the area Saturday Apr 30 and Sunday May 1 and are interested in this tour, but not if it is crowded. How does Saturday look? Or should we try to book a tour for Sunday? (There will be 4 of us.)
Answer: The April 30th tour is not available, but, yes, you may book a tour for Sunday May 1 for four people. I like to keep tours, small, usually eight people, so that we have plenty of time to interact with chefs, owners and mixologists. Call or email me if you'd like to RSVP directly. 910-545-8055 or culinaryadventureswithlizbiro@gmail.com...Liz

Question: Are food and drinks both included in the $38 or are they extra? Thanks
Answer: A food tasting is provided at each stop, and one or two restaurants also serve a cocktail or wine tasting, usually a 2-ounce pour. For the most part, restaurants provide ice water. Other beverages -- including cocktails, wine and beer -- may be purchased at each stop.

Question: Can my husband and I bring our very well behaved baby in a carrier sling or stroller? Thank you.
Answer: Yes, your baby is welcome.

Question: How far in advance does one need to make a reservation?
Answer: The tours fill up quickly, so book at least a few days ahead. If you're just one or two people, you may get lucky and be able to just step on at the last minute. Larger groups should always book at least a week ahead.

Question: Ms. Biro, I would like to purchase two tickets for your event on Saturday 29 Oct 2011. If I purchase tickets on line where do I pick up the tickets?
Answer: Pick up your tickets at the meeting point, on The Riverwalk at Market and Water streets, downtown Wilmington.

Question: Hello, my wife & I want to buy tickets for the Feb. 11, 2012 Heart of Downtown tour but the only option is to select Military Discount tickets. Can this be corrected so we can purchase regular price tickets online? I am also going to invite up to 7 additional people to join us so I wanted to make sure the correct ticket options were available before sending them the invites.
Answer: OK. All fixed and ready to go. Let me know if you have any other problems. Thanks...Liz

Question: Liz, I want to book a tour for maybe six or seven women for Saturday, June 9th. Before I reach out to them, is the date available? Thanks
Answer: Yes, June 9 is available, but don't wait long to reserve. Tours fill up quickly.

Question: Is Monday, July 2nd available for a private tour of 4-5?
Answer: Yes. Direct message me at culinaryadventureswithlizbiro@gmail.com

Question: How much walking does the tour require? I'd like to bring my elderly Mom and was concerned about the amount of walking?
Answer: The total walk is about a mile, with seven stops along the way. The longest stretch is 3 blocks, and we move at the pace best for those on the tour.

Question: Is this sat's tour filled? My husband and I just found out about it from our friends at MG who are with a group. Thanks Patti Jackson
Answer: Sorry, the tour is full. How can I help you with another date?

Question: Will you have tours available for the weekend of August 24th?
Answer: August and beyond ticket sales begin Aug. 1, 2012

Question: I am driving in from Hubert, NC Where would be a central location to park so I can just walk to the starting point of the tour. Thanks!
Answer: Street parking is free on Sundays. There are also three paid parking decks on 2nd Street, between Market and Grace Streets.
