Story Story Night | COMING OF AGE
STORY STORY NiGHT CELEBRATES "COMING OF AGE" APRIL 25

(BOISE, ID) Story Story Night turns one year old in April. To celebrate, the up-and-coming live storytelling program presents COMING OF AGE: Stories of Growing Pains & Rites of Passage on April 25, 2011. The show starts at 7 pm at The Linen Building, located at 1402 W. Grove St. in downtown Boise's Linen District.

Admission is $5. A limited number of priority seating tickets are now available two weeks in advance at Brown Paper Tickets (www.brownpapertickets.com/event/168653). Doors open to priority seating ticket holders at 6:00 pm. General admission tickets continue to be available when doors open to the public at large at 6:30 pm. The venue is all ages, and offers a full bar (with valid ID) and Pie Hole pizza.

On the last Monday of every month, Story Story Night presents true stories on a theme, told live on stage and without notes. Featured storytellers share a story on the theme, followed by an open story slam. Musician Dan Costello performs, and Jessica Holmes hosts the night.

The featured storytellers for COMING OF AGE are Josh Gross, Ben Kemper and Anna Demetriades. Gross serves real time for a juvenile crime he didn't commit. Kemper grows into his own while on a storied trip in China. Demetriades sees her view evolve when her grandfather passes on a painful truth.

The featured storytellers become judges in the story slam after an intermission with live music. Names are drawn from a hat, and the chosen few have 5 minutes to tell a true story on the theme. The winner receives a prize from Rediscovered Books and Boise Guest House.

"What a year for what has turned out to be an amazing program," says Jessica Holmes, Story Story Night Host, Artistic and Marketing Director. "When Clay Morgan, Hollis Welsh, Paul Shaffer and I founded Story Story Night, never in our wildest dreams did we imagine it would be such a hit. We are awestruck by the power of the stories and the empathy in this community. Thanks Boise, for everything. We'll keep growing strong, if you keep coming."

At the April show, Story Story Night will sell one-of-a-kind merchandise, designed and produced by new partner Bricolage.
