The Birthday Club
An accident of timing forces three college classmates to put up with one another from the first week of freshman year to their 25th reunion and beyond. Now, finally, as an important milestone looms, and they get together to plan a joint event, enough is enough. The Birthday Club is a funny and poignant dissection of friendship: real, imagined, and just plain false.

The Birthday Club, written and directed by Erik Blachford, is a production of Theater Dinamundo and features the talents of:

Justin Foster (Matthew) began acting at Notre Dame de Namur University as Valentine in Twelfth Night, Johnathen Harker in Dracula, and Philinte in The Misanthrope.  Professional credits: Lysander in A Midsummer's Night Dream (the Half Moon Bay Shakespeare Company) and the Playwrights Foundation's One Minute Play Festival. He played JD in the short film Take With A Grain of Salt. Justin thanks his mom, his brother Robby, and his family for their continued support in pursuing his dreams.

Kim Saunders (Madeleine)is thrilled to be performing at the SF Fringe Festival. NY credits include: The Metropolitan Opera, Nat Horne Theatre and AATC. West Coast credits: Oregon Shakespeare Festival, SJ Rep, SJ Stage, Napa Valley Shakespeare, CMTC (company member), Theatre Pub and Off Broadway West. Favorites include Kate  Taming of the Shrew, Viola - Indulgences in the Louisville Harem (BATCC nominee, principal role) and Elizabeth Proctor - Crucible. www.kimsaunders.net
JD Scalzo (Bobby) is an East Coast transplant celebrating a full year as a San Franciscan. He came out here last summer with ACT's Summer Training Congress and made the move shortly thereafter. Since being a resident, he's working with several local theater companies including Left Coast Theatre, The Breadbox, and Theatre Rhino. Check him out at www.jdscalzo.com

Joshua Selesnick (Frank) makes his Fringe debut with The Birthday Club, after appearing in Do The Math (Overcast Productions, SF) and shows in Oberlin including Roserncrantz and Guildenstern, Skin of Our Teeth, Journey To The West, and Salome. Most recently, he played in the lead in the short film Shortchanged (Dir Ryan Warner).

Tony Gonzalez (Sound Design) is a sound design student at San Francisco State University. Although this is his first production in San Francisco he has been working in theater for many years around the bay. He would like to thank his fellow students for helping him with his work.
Brittany Mellerson (Lighting Design)is a newcomer to the Bay Area and recent graduate of Point Park University's Conservatory Program - with a BFA in Theatrical Lighting & Sound design. Some of her recent design credits include lighting design for Absolutely Fabulous! (Royal British Theater Co) and Drop Dead! (Crystal Springs Players). She is the current Master Electrician for the Berkeley Playhouse.

Jacqualynn Metcalf (Stage Manager) is excited to be a part of such a wonderful festival. She is currently attending S.F.S.U. and will graduate in the spring with a B.A. in Theater Arts and Dance. She hopes to one day open a performing arts center to keep art thriving in the community.

Rem Myers (Producer) is a producer, director, dramaturg, and teacher. He has directed several workshops/staged readings at Cutting Ball Theater, where he is an associate artist, including Caught, Hamletmachine, A Murder of Crows, The Oresteia, and A Slight Ache. He has directed for PianoFight, Theater Pub, the Young Playwrights Project (TheaterWorks), Those Women Productions, and the One Minute Play Festival (Playwrights Foundation). When he is not theatering, he teaches at the Urban School of San Francisco.

Erik Blachford (Playwright & Director) founded Theater Dinamundo. He is grateful for the support of his awesome wife Maryam Mohit and their kids Jake, Sedi-Anne, and Theo.

Theater Dinamundo launched with the production of Hang On at the 2014 San Francisco Fringe Festival. For updates and more information, please visit our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/dothemundo)
