Tamalpa Expressive Arts Playshop ~ Dance, Draw & Write to Nourish Yourself
Tune into your body's inner impulses and take creative leaps through movement, drawing, and writing in this playshop, based on the internationally-recognized work of the Tamalpa Institute, founded in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1978 by dance pioneer, Anna Halprin, and expressive arts therapist/educator, Daria Halprin. Exploring the Halprin's unique approach to movement-based expressive arts, we will improvise new dances, draw images and write poetry to nourish ourselves and our creativity.
Absolutely no dance or art experience is necessary. The only requirement is a willingness to experiment and have fun!

Trinity's experience of Tamalpa Expressive Arts-

I first experienced Tamalpa Expressive Arts at a workshop at Omega a few years ago. I loved it so much that I decided to take a trip to the Tamalpa Institute in California for a workshop last May.

Tamalpa expressive arts is a profound and creative way to access the bodies deep inner wisdom. The guided improvisational drawing and dancing exercises enable you to access deeper parts of yourself in fun, unique and creative way that speaking cannot.

I find the Tamalpa work to be fun, insightful and enlivening. It provided me with a unique, deep way to connect to myself and others all while having fun in the process. I am not the best at drawing but I love to do it and left to my own devices rarely do. I love how this work supports me in further opening and expressing myself and my creativity without pressure or judgment.
