LETHE, benefitting Safe Horizon
Players Club New York, NY
All ticket proceeds benefit Safe Horizon (www.safehorizon.org), the nation's leading victim assistance, advocacy, and violence prevention organization with more than 60 programs operating in all five boroughs of New York. Safe Horizon's mission is to provide support, prevent violence, and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities.
Set in contemporary New York City, LETHE is the story of Harry, a young man struggling to conquer demons in both his memories and his daily life. As a child, Harry was told stories of ancient Greek gods and fancied himself Apollo, strong and terrible and not troubled with thinking or feeling like a mortal human. This coping mechanism worked in his youth, but now that he's a man riding the subway to work everyday he looks for help in other places, including prayer and liquor. Can Harry's demon memories be washed away, or can he face his past, and his future, with his mind cleansed of doubt and full of hope: that is the central question of LETHE.
