Spring, Sprang, Sprung! Community Dinner and Full Moon Walk
Spring, Sprang, Sprung! Summer is on its way! Join Center staff, your neighborhs, barred owls, mountain beavers and coyotes, to wave goodbye to spring and welcome summer!
Start out having dinner with friends and neighbors at the Center. Then, participants will get a fascinating first-hand look at the park by moonlight and find out which creatures creep while we sleep as an experienced naturalist leads this fun and informative walk. A great chance to learn about the nocturnal residents of Seward Park, the walk is enhanced by the magic and mystery of the wildlife of the park at twilight. You'll almost forget you're just blocks from the normal hustle and bustle of the town amongst the scenery of the magnificent old growth forest and our beautiful Lake Washington. On this guided walk, participants will listen for owls hooting and coyotes yipping, and learn about spiders, bats mountain beavers and other wildlife of the park.
Dinner runs from 7:00-8:00 and guided walks will leave the Center at 7:30, 7:50, and 8:15PM. Tickets are $3-8 and include both dinner and the walk. Space is limited, so purchase tickets in advance!
This walk is suitable for people of all ages and is a great family outing (although it is not stroller friendly.)
