Conversations with Ernestine
Meet Ernestine Greaves, a mother, an advocate, and a survivor. Hear from her how participating in the first Survivors' Truths project has affected her and how she thinks it can help Liberia move forward in building sustainable peace and stability.
In fourteen years of successive waves of brutal conflict, hundreds of thousands of Liberians were displaced and terrorized. It seems that virtually everyone who was there between 1989 and 2003 has had some devastating experience. Some Liberians lost hope. Still, many, even in their darkest moments, kept trying and did amazing things to escape, to survive, and to help others.
The Survivors' Truths project makes space for a few of these voices, gives face to their stories, and celebrates the spirit of these who are some of Liberia's true heroes.
