Tierney Sutton Band plus Luis Perdomo Trio at the Bellevue Jazz Festival
A three-time GRAMMY nominee for Best Jazz
Vocal Album, The Tierney Sutton Band has
collaborated for a span of 17 years. Comprised
of acclaimed vocalist Tierney Sutton and expert
instrumentalists Christian Jacob, Trey Henry, Kevin
Axt and Ray Brinker, the band is an incorporated
partnership of both musical and business unity.
Members of the band have played and recorded
with a diverse array of music legends including Ray
Charles, Natalie Cole, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor and others. The band's most recent GRAMMY nominated album,
Desire, has been described by The Chicago Sun Times as "a conceptual masterpiece."
Luis Perdomo, born in Caracas, Venezuela, was exposed to just about every style of music, but he was drawn to jazz
and the piano at an early age. A scholarship to the Manhattan School of Music moved Perdomo to New York City, where
he quickly established himself as an in-demand pianist amassing an impressive resume. As a longstanding member of
groups led by Miguel Zenón and Ravi Coltrane, Luis has made his mark as a performer, composer and arranger. His recent
album, Universal Mind, was released in February and features bassist Drew Gress and master drummer extraordinaire
Jack Dejohnette. For this performance he will be joined by bassist Hans Glawischnig and drummer Rodney Green.
Tierney Sutton will perform with her band on Friday, June 3, at 7:30 p.m. The Luis Perdomo Trio will will open the show.
