Big Day with Josiah Clark
Join expert birder Josiah Clark for a full day in the field. Josiah will tour the area's many productive habitats, starting at Drakes Bay and outer Point Reyes and continuing inland to search fir-bay-madrone forest, redwood forest, chemise chaparral, oak savannah, bayside and saltmarsh. Josiah can be counted on to locate most of the species presentusually a big load of birds. This will be fast-paced birding with the objective of tallying as many species as possible during the daylight hours of this single late April day. This is not a trip for aesthetics be prepared to move!
Guide: Josiah Clark Where to meet: Point Reyes National Seashore Chimney Rock Parking Lot at 6:00 am Carpool from: Dance Palace Community Center, 503 B Street, Point Reyes Station, at 5:15 am, or meet at Chimney Rock at 6:00 am Event location: Drakes Bay and outer Point Reyes plus inland locations What to bring: Binoculars; scope (if possible); hiking boots; warm clothing; lunch; water Limited to 15 participants Target bird or species information: As many as possible!
