Wildflowers of Chimney Rock
Join Susan Cochrane Levitsky, California endangered species botanist and former chief of the California Fish and Game Department's Natural Heritage Division, who provided the guidance for Wild Gardens (the beautiful coffee table book about California;s unique flora), on a tour of the wildflower gardens of Chimney Rock. This area has an enormous number of wildflowers, here at the western edge of the continent. See one species after another on this gorgeous walk (a casual walk of under 3 miles). DonĂ¯t forget to look out to sea or up in the sky once in a while too, to catch a glimpse of a whale or peregrine falcon going by! Easy trail walking.
