Decoys: A North American Art Form
Fred Hanson is the co-author of the definitive Pacific Flyway book, Wildfowl Decoys of The Pacific Coast-British Columbia, Washington, Oregon and California. He will share his extensive knowledge of waterfowl decoys in this fascinating presentation. Decoys are used for a wide variety of purposes, such as waterfowl studies and re-establishment of breeding colonies, as well as hunting. Wildlife artists make decoys that never see the out of doors, as well as those used in differing habitats. Fred has a remarkable collection of decoys, and he will bring many examples that he will use in his talk. Those attending this talk can bring decoys for Fred to identify, evaluate, and appraise.
