Adventures in Bird Molt
Bird molting can make identification difficult, but the birds need to do it! Join biologist Peter Pyle as he explores how birds renew their plumage, when to expect molting, what purpose molting serves, how birds change from breeding to non-breeding plumage, and what ecological forces drive molt extent, timing, and sequence. A typically boring and untenable subject made fascinating, understandable, and even fun by an expert birder and naturalist. Presenter: Peter Pyle Where to meet: Dance Palace Community Center, Board Room, 503 B Street, Point Reyes Station What to bring: Yourself Limited to 20 participants
