Gray Whales and More at the Outer Point
Join marine mammal expert Sarah Allen to observe migrating California gray whales, elephant seals, breeding harbor seals, and thousands of nesting sea birds. At this time of year, gray whale females can be seen from Point Reyes Headland as they escort their newborn young from Mexico to Alaska. Cormorants, pigeon guillemots and common murres nest on the rocky cliffs near there, and hundreds of molting elephant seals will be visible in a nearby cove.
