PALMUSIC UK FUNDRAISING CONCERT
The Friends of the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music UK (Palmusic UK) would like to cordially invite you to a music evening dedicated to the Palestinian students and teachers of the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music (ESNCM), the Palestine national music institution with thriving branches in Jerusalem, Ramallah, Bethlehem, Nablus and Gaza.

The violinist Levon Chilingirian and his celebrated String Quarter, with Susie Meszaros on viola and Ariana Kashefi on cello, will be leading the evening together with the internationally renowned flautist and trustee of Palmusic UK, Wissam Boustany.
We are thrilled to welcome three emerging Palestinian musicians, all graduates from the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music in Bethlehem, who are now embarking on successful careers internationally. Pianist Ramzi Shomali, clarinetist and nay player Mohamed Najem, and violinist Lourdina Baboun, will join the Chilingirian Quarter in an eclectic combination of classical Western pieces and Arabic compositions and improvisations.

Programme includes:
Mohammed Najem: De Bethlehem A Angers, Al Asmar El Lon, Improvisation
W. A. Mozart: Violin Sonata K454
Wissam Boustany: Broken Child
Robert Schumann: Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 44

''Apart from helping define an open and progressive culture for Palestinians, music also puts a human face to the many individuals who partake in it, be they performers or listeners.'' Wissam Boustany, Flautist and Professor of Flute,Royal Northern College of Music.

Palmusic UK is a UK charity founded in 2013 to support the music education of young Palestinians and the work of the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music. We want to help revive a lively music culture in Palestine and to celebrate music as a wonderful bridge builder between people and nations.
