Brew the Booch
Kombucha tea has been long revered and brewed for it's unique, sweet-sour, sparkling taste, and for a litany of health benefits. It has enjoyed a renaissance in recent years as more and more producers and brands are making their way to store shelves. This living culture drink is rich in probiotic microorganisms, vitamins, enzymes and minerals. And with a little know-how and a "scoby" (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeasts), it's relatively easy to make.
Alameda Natural Grocery presents this class taught by Dominique Banuelos. In this class you will learn the history and benefits of Kombucha tea, a living culture of beneficial microorganisms, and how to cultivate and brew your own.
The class takes place on Friday, February 4th at 6:00 pm for the next installment of Alameda Natural Grocery's ongoing First Friday Lecture Series. The talk takes place in the Beanery in the Alameda Marketplace. Tickets are available on a sliding scale from $10-$40, which includes all needed materials that are yours to take home.
