Ion-- by H.D. (after Euripides)
(In residence at) The Side Project Theatre Chicago, IL
Caffeine Theatre presents H.D.âs breathtakingly poetic adaptation of Euripides' classic play âIonâ May 4-27. Continuing Caffeineâs season of Greek classics, âIonâ crystallizes emotion in image, and stages a communityâs struggle to maintain its identity when confronted by outside forces, both foreign and divine. A queen visits the Delphic Oracle to beg for a son, while a young priest searches for his parents, and his place in the world. Featuring: Jamie Bragg, Carey Burton, Alison Dornheggen, Laura Ione, Ian Randall, Erik Schnitger, Evan Sierminski. Directed by Jennifer Shook.
