Matthew Westerby Company New York City Season 2011
Matthew Westerby Company presents its first annual New York City season at the historic Speyer Hall at University Settlement, April 15 & 16, 2011. Five works created by artistic director Matthew Westerby including two New York premieres will be presented during the season. Previously described as making dance work "that possesses an irresistible force," (Ben Felsenburg, Resolution! Review), Westerby blends athleticism, a sense of musicality and a dedication to spatial design within his work that reveals both traditional and innovative approaches to choreography. The eight-member company includes founding members Mandy Chan, Alessandra Larson, Kristin Licata and Bafana Matea, as well new additions Dylan Baker, Hannah Marie Corbin and Amanda Gavan.
