RECSI February Dinner Meeting
Program: Water, water everywhere and not a drop to waste.
California is a land rich in natural resources. Efficent water use is the key to sustainable growth and development utilizing these resources.
Learning Objectives:
Learn about the requirements of the California water efficient landscape ordinance.
Analyze costs vs. benefits of water efficient landscape implementation.
Identify the techniques of water reclamation and learn the limits from both a pratical and regulatory perspective.
Know which agencies govern water use in the state and understand their objectives.
Identify possible future requirements of water use, retention, and discharge.
Session Cost: $30.00
Education Credit: .15 CSI CE units.
Program Speakers: Peter J. Lescure, P.E. is President and Principal of Lescure Engineers, Inc. Mr. Lescure applies his education and experience, ranging from planning through construction, in the area of small community and decentralized wastewater management systems. Mr. Lescure holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University, San Jose. He is a Licensed Professional Civil Engineer in the state of California (RCE 28044) and is actively involved with promoting sustainable and efficient approaches to storm and waste water management. Mr Lescure served as President of the California On-site Wastewater Association and the North Coast Chapter of ACEC California and was the Chairman of the Sonoma County Land Use Advisory Panel and a director of the North Coast Builder's Exchange. He currently holds the postion of Vice President for the Redwood Empire Chapter of CSI.
Robert Cox, R.L.A., is the owner and principal of Tangram Landscape Architecture. Rob's practice is rooted in the belief that design involves collaboration not just between people, but between the objectives and elements of the project and the world around it. Backed by a BSLA from Texas A&M University and more than 20 years of experience in landscape architecture, Rob draws his design inspiration from the local ecology, culture and economy, and aims to include innovative water use and management techniques in each of his projects . Rob serves on the Board of Directors for the Redwood Empire Chapters of AIA and CSI.
