L'Orage Casino Night @ Durham Arts Council
Game tables with great prizes including an overnight stay at the Umstead Hotel & Spa with breakfast for two in Herons Restaurant valued at $400. Fullsteam beer, wine from the West End Wine Bar, l'orage cocktail, light hors d'oeuvres and music. Cocktail Attire.
Tickets: $50 for $200 in play money. $75 for $400. Tables include black jack, roulette, poker and craps. Note: play money is not redeemable for cash, though prizes will be awarded for the highest and second highest winners. There will also be a raffle prize at the roulette table and a door prize. Additional play money will be available during the evening for cash purchase. No credit cards.
KidZNotes is a not-for-profit organization that offers an after-school and Saturday morning free orchestra program for Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Third Grade students that qualify for free or reduced cost lunches at E. K. Powe, Y. E. Smith, and Eastway Elementary. It is inspired and based on El Sistema, the 35 year old Venezuelan orchestra program that has transformed the lives of over 2 million children in need. Through the help of grants and donations, children receive a violin, 10 hours of instruction a week and ensemble opportunities to perform.
