A Visit from Sir John A. Macdonald!
SALON Theatre will be performing at Ross Bay Villa, Sunday afternoon, May 3, 2015 in Victoria BC.  Event goes from 2 pm to 3 pm and includes an hour-long musical theatre performance in the gardens of the historical home.

The event is part of a year-long celebration of Ross Bay Villa's 150th anniversary organized by the Ross Bay Villa Society to raise funds to purchase and finish restoring the historical home that once belonged to Member of Parliament Francis Roscoe.

Francis Roscoe was an ardent supporter of British Columbia joining Confederation and was elected for Victoria between 1874-1878.  When he resigned his seat in August of 1878, the vacancy made way for Sir John A. Macdonald to be elected for Victoria in October of the same year.

SALON Theatre would like to bring the now 200-year-old Sir John A. Macdonald back to the island to celebrate Ross Bay Villa's former occupants.  Our five actor-musicians are stopping in Victoria amid their six-week national tour of Sir John Eh? The Road Show, a fluid, flexible, and portable theatrical show designed to get people thinking about Canada's history and systems of government, and the contributions of our first prime minister.

Tickets are set at $10.  Proceeds will be split 50/50 between the two charities.  For a list of all events planned at Ross Bay Villa for the 150th anniversary, please visit www.rossbayvilla.org

Sir John, Eh? The Road Show is part of SALON Theatre's SirJohnA2015, a year-long project aimed at drawing attention to our National Identity and Canada's first Prime Minister with a unique blend of heritage and the arts. Full details are available at www.sirjohna2015.ca
