Ballroom Book Bash with Karen Abbott, author of American Rose, with music by Bernadette Seacrest
Author Karen Abbott returns to her former home of Atlanta to celebrate the publication of her latest non-fiction work: American Rose: A Nation Laid Bare: The Life and Times of Gypsy Rose Lee. Abbott's first book, Sin in the Second City, launched in 2007 at an earlier incarnation of The Ballroom Book Bash. Bernadette Seacrest, who entertained at that celebration, returns with her band, the Provocateurs, to capture the sound and spirit of the Golden Age of American burlesque, embodied by Gypsy Rose Lee.
