about The Garys
Greetings! The Garys are a team of seven long-form improvisers (based in New York City) who have studied at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (NYC), The Magnet Theater (NYC) and Second City (Chicago). We met while training at the UCBT and have been improvising together, as a team, since June of 2009. We are delighted to be coached by Will Storie of UCBT Harold teams Raynard and The Bishop.
You will find The Garys performing frequently in New York at venues including UCBT, The Magnet, Urban Stages, The Creek, Under St. Marks, Parkside Lounge, Gotham City Improv, Triple Crown and as hosts of the monthly Sunday Funnies comedy lineup at The Tank. While we have collectively studied 'The Harold' extensively, our show format generally consists of an Armando - a monologue opening followed by a series of scenes inspired by the opening.

The Sunday Funnies are every Sunday at 7:30pm in 2010. Established comedy groups The Indicators, North Coast, The Garys, and City Hall will rotate every week to perform their own material as well as mentor developing comics who are interested in performing at the Tank. Never to impose drink or table minimums, Comedy at the Tank aims to provide the highest quality and dedication to the comic craft in New York City.
