We are excited to announce that Kevin Danaher, Ph.D., will be speaking at our annual Good Government Luncheon. His talk will be on The Solution Revolution: Replacing an Extractive System with a Regenerative System.

It's high time that each one of us--as concerned global citizens--come to terms with the ravages of economic globalization. Why does this extractive economic model cause such gross inequality? Why does it create environmental devastation? Fortunately, practical solutions are being tested at the global level. Our guest speaker this year will discuss how, over the last several decades, a grassroots convergence of many social, political, peace, and environmental movements is initiating the first ever "solution revolution" a values revolution will, as he says "take us from a system where money-values rule over the life cycle to one where life-values rule over the money cycle." Dr. Kevin Danaher has long been at the forefront of this struggle. According to him, these citizen movements represent the core constituency for building a world democracy that will one day replace the United Nations, making possible the regenerative global system we urgently need.

*Dr. Kevin Danaher is a cofounder of Global Exchange, FairTradeUSA, the Green Festivals, and the Green Guardians. Kevin earned a PhD in sociology from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and is the author or editor of thirteen books on the global political-economy, including Democratizing the Global Economy, Ten Reasons to Abolish the IMF and World Bank, and most recently, Building the Green Economy. Described by the New York Times as "the Paul Revere of globalization's woes," Danaher's analytical expertise, sense of humor, and blunt eloquence make him an exceptionally dynamic speaker.
