Get Cooking Charleston! Charleston Magazine's Recipe Contest & Cook-off Presented by Piggly Wiggly
Don't miss our second annual Recipe Contest & Cook-off as our home chef finalists present their winning recipes featuring Lowcountry ingredients.
Two finalists in each category will compete in front of a live audience and our esteemed judges: award-winning cookbook authors Matt Lee and Nathalie Dupree and Charleston food editor Marion Sullivan for a feature in the December issue of Charleston magazine. The cook with the highest overall score will receive the $500 Grand Prize. Categories include:
*Appetizer - required major ingredient: locally harvested shellfish
*Entree - required major ingredient: sustainable, South Carolina-harvested or - raised fish, meat, poultry, or game
*Side Dish - required major ingredient: South Carolina-grown vegetable or grain
*Dessert - required major ingredient: locally or historically significant product (such as benne, Madeira, or oranges)
Audience members will have an opportunity to taste the appetizer and dessert dishes!
Hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be served.
