The Torch-Bearers by George Kelly
Before Michael Frayn's "Noises Off" and Christopher Guest's 1996 film "Waiting for Guffman" there was a hit Broadway show called "The Torch-Bearers". This backstage comedy was written by Pulitzer Prize winning George Kelly (and uncle to Grace Kelly), in 1922.
The story focuses on a wealthy group of amateur theater performers and their decent into chaos from first rehearsal to post-show hangover!
"And you thought bungee jumping was dangerous - just try participating in community theatre!... Surprisingly delightful! ... A hit!" NY Times
Opening night proceeds will benefit The Ruby Room in Seattle.
